Description

Beacon Patrol is a cooperative and relaxing tile laying exploration game.

You play as captains of the coast guard, navigating the North Sea coast to secure its beacon buoys, lighthouses and waterways.

Build and explore the shoreline by placing tiles matching the edges of neighboring ones. Move your ship step by step, exchange tiles with your teammates and score exploration points.

Beacon Patrol combines the look and feel of a modern board game with the adventure of cruising the sea in ever changing ways.

History

Beacon Patrol started out as a physical board game by Torben Ratzlaff in 2022, which has been licensed and released by Pandasaurus Games since. We felt a digital adaptation of the game would work great and consequently started development in October 2022. Since than we made great progress and plan to enhance Beacon Patrol with additional content and features beyond its core experience.

Gameplay

Get on board for a peaceful seafaring adventure in Beacon Patrol: a game where you create your own coastal map, one tile at a time. Explore the North Sea with your ship and map out lighthouses, beacon buoys, and waterways. Play alone or with your friends, aiming to create the most elaborate and complete map.

Begin your exploration with a single tile, and from there, let your map grow. During each turn, you place up to three tiles, linking them to your ship’s location. As you navigate your ship with care, you’ll earn points by surrounding tiles on all sides. If you find yourself in a tricky situation, don’t hesitate to swap tiles with your teammates, all while strategizing for what lies ahead.

Being out at sea can be challenging, but there’s no need to rush. Take your time, plan your moves, and enjoy the gentle waves, salty air, and seagull calls. Beacon Patrol is a relaxing game that lets you explore the beauty of the North Sea at your own pace.
